- Coached Bel Air Boys baseball and basketball for 7 years

- Coached Bel Air Girls basketball for 7 years

- Member and vice-chair of Town of Bel Air Historic Preservation Commission for 8 years

- Member of Town of Bel Air Board of Ethics for 11 years

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware

- Served the Department of the Army for 40 years as an engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground; 

--29 years of which were in a leadership role
